ORIGINAL WINCHESTER LEE NAVY U.S. MODEL 1895 STRAIGHT PULL 6MM RIFLE. Serial number "96XX" and all matching. Original stock finish with "A" and a star stamped between rear sling swivel and buttplate. Some storage dings here and there from 100+ years but excellent overall. 85% original blue fading to plum overall with crisp markings on metal. "U.S.N." over Anchor over serial number over "-N.C.T.-" crisply struck on top of receiver. Excellent screws. Sight hood still present. Original sights. Perfect working order. A very nice example. Not a U.S.S. Maine gun but in that block of numbers. Springfield Research says issued to USS Iowa at one time. Antique!
