Description:
SOLD-SOLD! Master Engraved Smith and Wesson Model 27-2 8 3/8" .357 Magnum Revolver in Mint Post Factory Unfired Condition. Master Engraved by the late Bernard (Bernie) Wolfe of El Paso, Tx. This Model 27-2 is master engraved in the antique Germanic Scroll Vine style used exclusively by Bernard Wolfe which is also the style of the Colt Factory "C" engravings which is probably why he primarily engraved Colt Single Action Pistols. Bernard Wolfe further embellished the engraving on this Model 27-2 with a subtle gold fill which sets off the engraving against the deep blued finish. This Model 27-2 is in overall "Mint" condition with no evidence of it having been fired outside the factory. There is a faint superficial cylinder turn line that appears more prominent than it actually is due to the highly polished mirror blued finish. There are no handling marks or detractions from the highly polished mirror blue finish that makes this a beautiful pistol to behold. A definite "Work of Art" by a highly regarded Master Engraver who was frequently featured in Gun Digest. This pistol comes with a lined wooden presentation case, but does not include the factory box or papers. A signed letter from Bernard Wolfe accompanies this fine beautiful revolver. Note: Due to the highly mirrored finish, reflections were impossible to avoid.
