This model was produced from 1954 to 1974. This pistol was produced before 1957. After 1957 this pistol was called the Model 43. The serial number of this pistol is 15714. This "Smith" has the standard 3 1/2 inch pinned barrel. The grips are the diamond center wood grips. These grips are serial numbered to the pistol. The pistol has the flat cylinder release sliding latch. This pistol shows very little use or being shot. The original bluing would rate a 98% condition. The grips are near mint condition. The color cased hammer and trigger shows vivid color. Those parts would rate a 98% also in color. There is no box or papers included with this pistol. These early lightweight frame pistols are very hard to find in this condition today. The grips are very good looking. The pistol itself is a great looking highly collectable handgun!
