Description:

CIVIL WAR Antique COLT 1860 ARMY Revolver Mfg 1863

.44 Caliber Cavalry Revolver by Samuel Colt

Here we present an antique Colt Model 1860 Army Percussion Revolver, made in 1863 in Hartford, Connecticut. The 1860 Army was the single most used pistol of the American Civil War. Over 200,000 were made from 1860 to 1873, and 156,000 of those were made by the end of the war in 1865. After the war, they were thrust into service on the Frontier in the Indian Wars. This was a fantastic time for arms and strategic development and Colt’s 1860 played a big role.

The overall condition of this revolver is good. The metal surfaces are dark with age. The markings are clear and legible. The serial numbers match with the exception of the cylinder. Wedge is a replacement. The original walnut grips are in good condition. The cartouche is faint. The bore is dark with very good rifling. The action on this revolver is currently frozen.

Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.

Barrel is 8 inches.

Caliber: .44 percussion

Overall condition as seen in photos.
