Description:
Fox HE Superfox 12 Gauge
70% CASE COLOR, 3" CHAMBERS, NICE ONE!

General Specs: Fox, Year 1926, 12 Gauge, 8lbs 12oz, SxS
Serial Number: 31577

Those interested in long range shooting, or in the finest waterfowler of yesterday or today, likely know of the Ansley H. Fox "SUPER FOX", the most capable long-range gun made in America, or maybe in the world!  Capable of shooting full choke patterns at 70 yards, the Super Fox changes the game for waterfowling.  There is a strong interest in these guns, made so by famous outdoor writer Nash Buckingham in the late 1920's and the following decades.  There were only about 950 SUPER FOX GUNS manufactured, and most have been altered in ways that destroy their function and value.    The Super Fox performance is entirely dependent on the combination of the over-bored barrels, precise chambers, and special, long tapered chokes, all finely tuned by the famous barrel guru Burt Becker.  A Super Fox with unmolested barrels is a rare find.  This great Super Fox, sn31577 built in Philadelphia in 1926, is in outstanding condition, with 70% vivid factory case color, 95% factory blue, mirror bores, unaltered Super Fox barrels with factory 3” chambers, no cracks or repairs to the wood, mechanics functioning to perfection, and barrels tight on the breech face and lever right of center.  Like most waterfowling guns, this Super Fox was used, but also well maintained.  She has exceptionally well figured wood from the factory, as most were shipped with plain, straight-grained walnut.  We restored the finish to bring out the figure and make sure she has some protection from the elements while out in the harsh environment of the duck blind.  The popularity of the HE Super Fox has soared over the last 5 years and they have become very difficult to find with prices rising steadily.  Those who own them rarely give them up so there are few offered for sale.  When investing in fine, usable shotguns from a bygone era, it is important to look carefully at any Fox HE carefully to make sure the barrels are unaltered, or you will be spending money on a gun nobody else will want.  If the seller cannot provide you with specific information, then how do you know what you are buying?  We have included a copy of the factory order card in the photo spread.  We also have all the specifications you should know about this gun below this descriptive paragraph.  This a rare opportunity to own the famous Super Fox that still has lots of factory condition remaining, with gorgeous wood, and ready to hunt waterfowl, turkey, or long-range pheasants.  I use a Super Fox when blocking cornfields for pheasants and you can kill cleanly at 70 yards to the left, right, and above!  How cool it is to see a rooster fold at that distance and hit the ground stone dead!  The Super Fox will only go up in value, so buy with confidence and enjoy.  Thanks for looking.
