RARE TWO DIGIT S/N WW2 MAUSER SAUER (ce 44 code) K98K 1944 DATE 8X57 RIFLE. Odd as it may seem, the serial numbers(all matching) is "44n" which is exactly what the date is on top of the receiver along with the "ce" (Sauer code). Rare in itself is the fact that it has two digit serial number since only 1-99 single digit and double digit numbers were made in each series. That compounded with how many were destroyed or sent to Russia is interesting. This is NO import. It is correctly laminate stocked with signs of period use. Correct "ce" Sauer code and various waffenamt/280 that backup Sauer. Original finish overall is 85% fading to plum. Replaced safety wing. Floorplate also correct with byf code. Matching serial on bolt "44n". Sight hood. Correct welded late War bands. Excellent bore and rifling. Perfect working order and bolt goes into battery like butter with tight lockup. Totally correct and matching.
