Here we present an antique Beautifully Engraved Smith & Wesson .38 New Departure Revolver, made circa 1891 in Springfield, Massachusetts. This 5-shot .38 S&W, top-break revolver was designed for self-defense and was very popular for the public.
This specimen is gorgeously engraved and features Mother-of-Pearl grips, something not often seen, especially in the original box.
The overall condition is very fine. The original nickel finish is 95%. The markings and engravings are clear. The grips are very good. The bore is clean and sharp. The action on this revolver is excellent.
