SCARCE Antique REMINGTON-SMOOT No. 1 Revolver
1 of Only 3,000 Made Circa 1876
Here we present an antique Remington-Smoot New Model No. 1 Revolver, made circa 1876 in Ilion, New York. Total production was 3,000. The No. 1 was a well-made revolver and was a prime competitor to similar Colts & Smith & Wessons of the time. It holds five shots of .30 Rimfire. This was the type of pistol you would have liked to have in your pocket in the late 19th century, whether you were in the big eastern cities or in a frontier boomtown. These were well made guns that were with you when you needed them most.
The overall condition is excellent. The original nickel finish is about 98% intact. The case colors on the hammer are vibrant. The markings are clear and legible. The original hard rubber grips are in fine condition. The bore is clean and sharp. The action on this revolver is excellent. A very scarce Remington in excellent condition!
