MASLIN Marked FLINTLOCK Long Rifle Circa 1825 FULL STOCK with Lock Made In Baltimore, MARYLAND Here we present an antique Flintlock American Long Rifle with M. M. Maslin marked lock made in Baltimore, Maryland circa 1825. Michael M. Maslin was a lock maker located in Baltimore from 1822 to 1833, and in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from 1833 to 1847. In the mid to early 1800’s, Baltimore was known for its gun makers and production of early model firearms, including both flintlock and percussion. There is very little information out there on Maslin, other than these dates and locations. This rifle features a double set trigger and full-length, 45-3/4 inch barrel. The lock is marked “M.M. Maslin” on top of “Warranted”. It has a handsome, full-length stock with very nice grain. The overall condition is fair. The metal surfaces are dark with age. The markings are mostly legible. The stock has been repaired at the wrist as well as just ahead of the lock. The action on this rifle is nonfunctioning. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.
