The Hosford & Co. Barrel Wall Thickness Gauge is one of the most reliable and repeatable ways to measure shotgun barrel wall thickness.
The gauge measures between two points and is run up and down the length of the barrel and rotated around the barrel. This allows for very precise and specific measuring. The two roller bearings can also help to identify pits and give an estimation of the depth of the pit.
The barrel rod also features a scale to allow the user to measure the location of pits or thin spots and measure choke lengths as well as chamber lengths.
