This has to be one of the best 100% original condition L.C. Smith hammer shotguns in existence!! This American-made classic double has 28" inch fluid steel barrels with 2.75" inch chambers, and they are near-perfect condition inside and out. This shotgun is a Field Grade Model serial number H 120011, that was manufactured in 1919 by Hunter Arms Company in Syracuse, NY. The barrels carried the Hunter Arms Co. name while the locks were stamped L.C. Smith. As you can see in the pictures, the original finishes are spectacular. The case colors are a brilliant 98%, and the factory blue finish rates 98% or better as well. Everything on this shotgun works 100% like the day it left the factory. It is quite rare to have any hammer shotgun in this spectacular condition, much less an American classic like this Field Grade L.C. Smith. If you have been looking for an investment quality American-made double to add to your collection this L.C. Smith is it, and it could not possibly be upgraded. This is truly a "centerpiece" type shotgun.
