The Remington Vest Pocket .22 Rimfire was made from 1865 to 1888 with approximately 20,000 manufactured. The single shot pistols were fitted with assorted barrel lengths, 2-piece walnut grips, spur trigger, came out of the factory marked or un-marked (early models), and were blue or nickel finished. This pistol, serial number 59, is as described, is fitted with a 3 1/4 inch barrel, nickel finished, and left the factory un-marked. It is in excellent original condition, retaining 99% of its original nickel finish and the hammer retaining about 70% of its original fire-blue finish. The grips fit well and retain most all of their original finish, with the only wear/damage being a sliver missing on the bottom of the right grip panel. The bore is mostly bright with visible rifling, but there are a couple of areas of corrosion. All screw heads are un-molested. The action is tight and functions perfectly. Very seldom do you see these small Remington's in this very nice condition. No FFL required, antique firearm.
