Probably manufactured in 1913 this Speciality Grade 16 Gauge side-by-side has 28 inch barrels with 2 3/4 inch chambers that measure .005 " and .020". The American Walnut straight English grip stock is sound and has a 14 inch length of pull over a 1 inch recoil pad. The action has a 3 position safety, automatic ejectors, and double triggers. It is in very fine original condition with some bright case colors in protected areas, 90%+ blue on the barrels, excellent bright bores, and everything works As stated before, the only alteration to this fine shotgun was the addition of the recoil pad. According to "L.C. Smith the Legend Lives" by John Houchins only 691 of the 16 gauge Speciality Grade shotguns were ever produced. A very attractive and classy vintage double barrel shotgun.
