Research records in England show him as a Lieutenant serving in South Africa (Boer War). 1st Leicestershire Imperial Yeomanry, 4th Battalion, 7th Company, apparently promoted to major later. The revolver is a Mark VI dated 1917. Bore is excellent. Action works perfectly. Grips are excellent. Left side grip has the letter “M” at the bottom. This is a sharp well cared for revolver that has lost its finish and is now an even gray patina. The revolver is in its original .455 caliber. Further research may prove worthwhile as an officer serving in the Boer War must have seen some battle experience.
