LAST Price Drop - PRICE SIGNIFICANTLY LOWERED - AGAIN!

This unique, rare K98k rifle needs a new home!

Justifiable asking price of   $1,983.47   is VERY low... So what’s the big deal, isn’t this -just another K98k?-

NO!  Please see all that follows as to why.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

WHY THE PRICE?

- On Guns International, the recent averaged asking price across TEN K98K rifles was just under $3,850. (a low of $900, and high of $9,995)

- This is an early K98k, made by MAUSER Oberndorf, and none of the TEN are/were a 1936.

- Very few of these/those TEN had/have waffenamt military markings/stamps at all, AND only the one I’m offering has ALL of them – very rare, especially for 1936. – Here’s an outside source of information on this…
  • Refer to Richard Law's "Backbone of the Wehrmacht" for one source of info on it. The earliest ones produced typically had practically all parts numbered.
  • This practice was later discontinued to a large extent to save time and speed production for the demands of supply to the military more expediently.
  • Another recommended information source with even greater detail was written by Bruce Karem and Michael Steves in three volumes. Their book about the development of this design and early production of them would be especially rewarding for you to read.
- ALL of the serial numbers, for the entire rifle, are marked with the serial number. Only one very minor piece cannot be 100% verified, due to it being slightly compressed in use.

- I have the physical capture papers, which can be traced back to a family member of the “Bring Back” soldier.

WHAT'S THE CONDITION?

The information that follows might help while considering if to purchase…

It does a very good job of honestly showing/explaining the condition of this rifle, but we're willing to take more images, with the exception of taking the rifle apart again

In the images, there’s one of a handwritten note from a physical inspection by a professional Gunsmith at an established shooting range & outdoors store in Central Ohio.

CONDITION, and NOTES BEYOND THE IMAGES

While it would be too much to show every single place now, we've already found about 20+ places where this rifle has stamps which are the same serial number..

We're convinced all pieces of the rifle match, with the SAME serial number. The only unclear spot is as I described before.

Through the disassembly/reassembly process (searching for more serial numbers) we discovered the end of the stock had cracked off (at least 32 years+ ago) but been professionally repaired. This is not visible as you look at the rifle, as a whole, because where the crack occurred is beneath necessary bands. (see images for this detail)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We're offering this rifle 100% as-is. We've never fired it (and can’t now). We’ve held nothing back and furthermore won’t. If you have questions, please do ask.

As I’ve mentioned this in previous forum postings, I am paralyzed from the chest down from an auto accident survivor (C6/C7 Tetraplegic), and stroke survivor - that leaves me with 25% useful on my left hand, and 70% useful on my right hand.

So, whoever we might work with on a purchase, and ultimately transfer/shipping of the rifle will have to be patient in getting it to them. In other words, We're NOT Amazon!!! This would take a few days to execute, but we do have reliable help.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So that’s our “disclosure” of sorts.

Thanks to all for your help, and consideration.
