Description:
Outstanding 1899 (serial # 112429) Remington Model 1894 EEO grade 16 gauge with 30", double ivory bead, raised rib, ordnance steel barrels, shiny bores with 2 9/16" chambers, choked full & full. A very hard to find and rare high grade of only 32 known Grade EE Remington 1894s that were recorded from the 41,194 guns produced. Of those, only four of them were built in 16 gauge, and only two of the four were with ordnance steel barrels.  Several pictures of this 1894 can be seen in Charles G. Semmer's book "Remington Double Shotguns" on pages 192-195. I talked with Mr Charles Semmer back in 2011 about another 12 gauge EE that I had sold. I received his most gracious permission to include his pictures from the beautiful work that he did on the Remington double gun in his book. Be sure to study these special photos shown below and start to realize what a rare high grade SxS find this Remington EEO really is, backed by one of the great authors of our time on a lost art. Just outstanding engraving and checkering covers this classic high grade Remington SxS. Engraving is very detailed and as good as it gets, most likely done by one of the greats in engraving, Joseph Loy. This 1894  remains in excellent condition. The length of pull to the solid recoil pad is 13 1/4" with drops of 1 1/2" and 2 3/4". The gun locks up tight and the ejectors are strong and it weighs in at 6 lb 14 oz. The right bore measures approx. .668 with .030 choke constriction and the left barrel measures .669 with .030 choke constriction. This is your opportunity to own not only a rare high grade, but a published gun as well. Also featured in the volume 13, issue 3, Autumn 2002 of the Double Gun Journel.  Look at all my pictures to see just how beautiful this rare Remington EEO 16 gauge really is. $120 S&H to most of the lower 48. Eight far west states at $140.00 S&H. No warranty stated or implied by the seller. Cashier's check at listed price. Discounted price with post office money orders or cash. Consignment gun-no return. Lay-a-way is available!
