Description:
A very rare Remington model 720A in 30-06.Built in May of 1942,this rifle is one of only 2500 model 720 rifles produced between 1941 and 1944.1500 of them were bought by the government in 1962 and given as prizes for the Secretary of the Navy shooting competition between the Navy and Marine Corps at Camp Perry.This gun is one of the few civiliam model 720s.This rifle is in excellent all original condition.The 22" barrel has a mint bore. The rifle has not been altered in any way.It is factory drilled and tapped with a single hole on the rear bridge as all 720s were.The gun retains 95% of the original blue and wood finish.there is a tiny chip at the top of the stock at the steel buttplate.The stock is otherwise very sound with no cracks or damage.This is a rare and very collectible rifle.It would also make a tremendous hunting rifle.Very few ever come up for sale.C&R eligible.
