SUPERB SPRINGFIELD U.S. MODEL 1884 .45-70 TRAPDOOR RIFLE. Serial number "4637XX". 32 5/8" barrel with mint bore and rifling. Front sight hood and correct Buffington rear sight. 95% factory blue with balance at muzzle with some very slight salt and pepper at crown. Correct case colored trapdoor with "U.S. Model 1884". Excellent hinge. Original screws with flame blue traces. All other screws unturned. Original barrel bands with brilliant blue. Original blue overall at 95% on all parts. Correct cleaning rod. Original stock finish excellent with "KiT" chiseled into left buttstock. Cartouche on left side of stock defaced but legible including date. Original tension on hammer mainspring with crisp three cock positions. Nice example.
