The Winchester Model 37 Single Shot Shotgun was made from 1936 to 1963, with over 1,015,000 manufactured. The top-lever break-open action shotguns were chambered in 12, 16, 20, 28 ga., or .410 bore. This Winchester Model 37 is fitted with a 28 inch barrel and chambered .410 bore. It is in fine condition, retaining 85% of its original blue finish, with most thinning on the bottom of the receiver and trigger guard due to handling. The bore is bright and the action functions fine. The stock and forearm retain 85% of their original finish with numerous handling marks/dings/scrapes. The forearm has a crack along the right side, which has been repaired/glued. The stock has cracks at the grip, behind the upper tang and lower tang. The plastic Winchester butt-plate fits well and is in good condition, but there is red paint dabbed all over the Winchester name. Not perfect, but a decent example of its type.
