Description:
Most notably known as the German sidearm for both world wars, the Luger P.08 is an easily recognizable part of history. Its sharply raked grip angle and distinctive toggle-lock design provide a unique silhouette. This particular model was a German military firearm produced by the Royal Erfurt Arsenal in 1917. Bluing and surfaces on the pistol show its age in spots; however, strong visible proof marks and matching numbers remain. Military proof marks are visible on the frame and barrel, and matching numbers are on all visible parts, including the magazine. This was an important part of the manufacturing process; manufacturing these pistols required more than a hand fitting to get them to function effortlessly, so the last 2 digits of the serial number were stamped to remove error in fitment. Arsenal proof marks are also visible that note a repair, refurbish, or modification by the Erfurt factory. This model also includes a period correct holster. This P.08, an iconic part of history, is needed for any true military arms collector.
