Description:
Parker A-1 Special 20 Gauge Shotgun
3 BARREL SET, RARE WINCHESTER REPRODUCTION, 1 OF 450 MADE

General Specs: Parker, Year 1988, 20 Gauge, #1= 6lbs 10oz  6lbs 13oz beavertail, SxS
Serial Number: 20-096

Parker Reproduction guns provide the double gun enthusiast a modern alternative to a true classic.  With modern steels and manufacturing techniques the Parker Repro is a wonderfully made gun designed for generations of use.  Manufactured from 1984 to 1988, there are limited numbers of guns in the market place and everyday even fewer in new condition.  These are true copies of the Parker original, with many parts interchangeable.   In fact, when comparing to like priced double shotguns being produced today, the Parker Reproduction is a far superior product in design, quality of wood and checkering, and engraving and finish work.  This is a very rare Parker Reproduction A-1 Special that is a genuine Winchester-Kodensha 20ga. that was produced as one of only 450 guns made as an A-1 Special in 1988, made for only one year.  This gun, serial number 20-096, left the factory as a two-barrel set in a beautiful oak and leather case and with stunning English walnut wood.  The 3rd barrel was added and is from a B Grade Reproduction, but is serial numbered to the gun and marked as barrel set #3.  What a versatile set this makes with chokes ranging from SK/SK, SK/IC, and IC/M, allowing you to hunt or shoot clay targets in almost any situation.  A sleeve has been added to the slip cover to house the 3rd set of barrels so you can keep them all together on your travels.  To add to the versatility, the set comes with a factory A-1 Special splinter forend wood and iron, as well as a factory beavertail forend wood and iron, allowing the new owner to choose between beavertail or splinter style forend.  Both forends fit all 3 barrel sets perfectly.  Nice touch!  This is a set you will never see again with these features.  The gun is equipped with a single selective trigger and ejectors and retains 99% of the beautiful finishes.  Anyone who knows Parker Reproductions realizes their only shortcoming was the case color was chemically applied and tended to flake off and fail on most guns.  The previous owner saw fit to have Turnbull Restorations do a proper bone and charcoal case color on the receiver of this gun and it turned out gorgeous!  Both sets of 28” barrels have 3” chambers, and the 26” SK/SK set has 2 ¾” chambers.  Look closely at the photos of this gun and you will see a true high-grade gun in every respect.  The deep-chiseled relief engraving was all hand cut by world-renowned master engraver Geoffroy Gournet…stunning!  The 32LPI checkering is likewise hand cut, with flor-de-lis carvings and fine mullered borders.  The set is perfect mechanically and has been carried afield but very well maintained showing just some light handling marks in the wood.  The skeleton buttplate is still intact and the dimensions are very modern and shootable.  PLEASE REALIZE THIS IS NOT ONE OF THE GALAZAN A-1 SPECIALS THAT WAS SOLD IN THE WHITE AND FINISHED BY OUTSIDERS.  THIS IS THE REAL THING AND AS SUCH A VERY RARE, VALUABLE, INVESTMENT QUALITY PARKER REPRODUCTION.  They will never be made again and there is not another set like this anywhere in the world.  We are offering this gun at a very attractive price and will allow the double gun enthusiast to have a vintage representation of the highest-grade Parker available made with modern steels and technology.  Thanks for looking!
