1850s Antique PERCUSSION Combination Gun
With Engraved Trigger Guard with Stag
Here we present an antique Percussion Combination Gun, made circa the 1850s. This firearm would have been intended for hunting multiple kinds of game in a single outing. The right bore is smooth and measures .36 caliber and would have been suitable for small to medium sized game, while the left bore is also smooth and .64 caliber, good for use as a shotgun for fowl or small game. This one features brass hardware and a shapely trigger guard with an engraved deer.
The overall condition is fair. The metal surfaces are dark with age. The bores are dark and smooth. The stock has a repair at the top of the wrist and along the top of each side of the forearm. The hammers are old replacements. The action is functioning.
