This Standard Products M-1 Carbine .30 Cal Serial Number 2232704, Mfg abt 6/43 is all orignal type parts w/a similar correct stock. It has the correct Mfgr's Ordnance of the
Cross Cannon on the r-side of the buttstock 4' fwd of the oval sling cut and onthe othe side in the sling well the correct stock mfgr's logo of "S - HB". The dood is insuberb condition for an WWII piece. Only a couple of handle marks. The finish is the Medium Walnut w/the reddish tone and very smooth. It looks overal to be abour as close to original
issue as I've seen.Ther are no cracks, gauges or scratshes. The Bluing is all correct and matches the gun throughout. The action is smooth and correct.
Ths rear sight is a Fli[ Typr w/the correct "S". The following parts were inventoried and found to match "The M-1 Carbine Wartime Production - 7th Edition by Craig Reisch".
Rear Sight - Flip w/S, Recoil Plate T-3 w/Standard Products imprinted, Barrel - "Underwood w/"P" proof mark and "6-43 w/flamimg bomb, Front Sight T-2 - w/"N", , Gas Piston, Nut and Barrel Skirt are all correct, Bolt Flat T2 w/lateral "S" and IS markings, firing Pin - Extractor, Plunger, & Ejector are all correct, Trigger Hsg - T4 w/"ST" logo, Trigger -T2 SA, Sear T2 SW, Hammer T2 H.I., Safety T2 -UM, Mag Catch T2 w/SW, Oper Slide - T4 s"S" marking, Stock - Std w/Initialls of "S-HB" in slig well and Ordnance Mark of Cross Cannons on R-Side od Butt Stock, Hang Gard T2 w/HB imprinted. The bore is shiney w/a nice distinct twist. The muzzle reading is "0". Almost like a new barrel.
This is a an Excellent overal M-1 Carbine I would give it an NRA Rating of 97% on the wood and a 95% on the parts with a 96% overal. This is an excellent choice for the discerning collector.
This Carbine comes w/a correct period Sling, Magazine & Oiler.
