Tiny .30 Caliber DOUBLE ACTION Perc. Pocket Pistol
Here we present an antique Allen & Thurber Double Action Bar Hammer Percussion Pistol, made from the 1830s to the Civil War. Only several thousand were made. This is the type of gun one might carry in a purse or pocket for self-defense in the 19th century.
The right side of the hammer is marked “ALLENS PATENT”. Modest scroll engraving throughout.
The overall condition is good. The metal surfaces bear a smooth patina. The markings are clear and legible. Trigger guard bow is absent. The bore is smooth and dark. The walnut grips are in good shape. The action on this pistol is strong.
