Description:
ONE OF THE MOST UNUSUAL AND RARE MARLINS I’VE SEEN!  MODEL ’94 WITH 32” HALF OCTAGON BARREL AND FULL 30” MAGAZINE (THE LONGEST MAGAZINE OFFERED) WITH RARE L. L. HEPBURN RECEIVER SIGHT, .25-20 CALIBER, #346XXX, MADE 1906! I’ve seen a very, very few 32” barrels on Marlin lever rifles, which was the longest offered, but this is the first 32” half octagon/half round 32” barrel I’ve ever seen. The Marlin book by Brophy shows a couple of  32” barrel rifles in the Model 1893, but they are full octagon. Overall condition of this ’94 is excellent with about all the deep original blue on the barrel and magazine with only a hint of plum just starting to mix on the barrel top ahead of the octagon part.  The receiver still retains nice light, faded case colors mixing gray with vivid colors in the protected areas. There is fine blue on the loading gate. Has a Lyman short blade with ivory bead front sight with Marbles flat top buckhorn rear sight. Correctly mounted in the factory holes on the receiver top is the extremely rare and seldom seen sliding elevation sight known as the L. L. Hepburn sight. By pushing in on the spring loaded sighting bar it can be raised or lowered into the hash-marked “wings” on each side and is Marlin marked with a 1903 patent date. At the rear of this sighting plane is a folding peep or tiny notched buckhorn sight. Excellent wood retaining most of the original oil finish. Has the shotgun butt plate of hard rubber that is Marlin embossed. Tight wood to metal fit and excellent screws. Excellent Marlin markings on the barrel and upper tang. Bore is a little dark, but about excellent. I don’t expect to see another like this one!
