This Springfield - Garand was mfg about 11/44 , Cal 30.06 and is in outstanding condition. It has all of the correct parts for that period.
I have inventoried them as follows: Receiver D28287-19SA, Oper Rod - D35381-6SA(It has the smaller cut), Trigger Hsg - D28230-12SA, w/Miller Trig Guard, Bullet Guide - Stamped, THr Barrel Date 3- S-A-7-11-44.
Clip Latch - Rounded, Follower Asbt - 12, Follower Arm - No Relief, Follower Rod T-4 w/rivets, Lower Band - LTE, bUTT pLATE W/Trap, Stock w/Cirrect Cartouche -
"SA/GAW" w/circled "P", Gas Cyl - Narrow, Screw - Cross w/Poppet, Gas Cyl Lock - Tapered, Rear Sight - Knurled Adj., Mfg by Spg, Trig Hsg - HmmerCA6008-5SA,
Safety - SA-11, Plunger - Winged.
Thr gun metal is good and correct contrast throughout w/ the black prkerized oper rod w/a 3/16" cut. Action is very smooth and tight and it cycles properly.
Thr bore is very clean & w/a distinct twist. It measures 1/2,and the throat is 1 1/2 - like a new.
The stock is a nice walnut w/no gauges,scrarches or cracks. This is a Garand that qualifies as both a collectible and a prospective shooter.
It is about a 96% gun overal and I would give it an NRA rating of Excellent.
