U.S. Springfield Model 1869 Cadet .50-70 caliber rifle. This beautiful cadet rifle is one of only 3,400 rifles produced by Springfield. Barrel has a beautiful bright finish. Bore is shiny with strong rifling. Lock plate is dated 1863, breech retains original bluing and is dated 1870. Stock is in near excellent condition with a sharp cartouche. A very fine example!
