This Underwood M-1 Carbine, .30 Cal, Ser No. 2878822 was mfg about 2/44. It is an original type Underwood Carbine w/all of the correct and matching parts.
The original walnut wooodstock has the correct Cartouche on the r-side of the butt stock "GHD/UFF w/ the ordnance cross cannons and the markings in the sling well.
It is in excellent conditiopn w/a few handling marks, The Handgard is matching and marked "M - 1". Also very unique abt this Underwood is the very well marked
border of the it's buttplate.
The following parts make up this fine piece:
Rear Sight - Flip w/"S", Barrel - Underwood dated 2/44 w/flaming bomb, Front Sight - Mkd "U", Gas Piston Nut, Piston and Barrel Skirt "1/3 Radius - All correct,
Bolt - Flat T 2 w/"U", Firing Pin -extractor, Ext Plunger and Ejector - All Correct, Trig Hsg - T2 w/"U" stpd in the mag well, Trig T2 "U", Sear T2 "U",Hammer T3 "U"
Safety T3 "UM", Mag Cat T2 w/"U", Oper Slide T3"OU", Stock"GHD/UFF w/ord cannons, Handgard T2 w/"M", Buttplate - Underwood w/distinct markings.
The sling is "C' type and original, The oiler is the correct "IS", and the magazine is the correct "U".
Muzzle reading is "1" - Good shooter as well !
This Underwood Carbine is a great example of a correct original and I rate it an "NRA" Very Good".
