Description:

Target Style U.S. REMINGTON Model 1903A3 RIFLE

WWII Manufacture Circa 1942

Here we present a U.S. Remington Model 1903A3 Rifle. The Model 1903 was, of course, adopted by the US in 1903. It was issued en mass during World War I through World War II. This rifle would have been issued during World War II and very likely used in combat. It was eventually sold as surplus and placed in this target style stock. The stock features a large comb, pistol grip and thumb rest. The rear sight is an adjustable aperture.

The barrel is marked “U.S./REMINGTON/MODEL 03-A3” and “S.C./FLAMING BOMB/4-43”. The receiver was made in 1942 and the barrel in 1943.

The overall condition is good. The blue finish has turned gray. The markings are clear. The walnut stock is mostly smooth and solid. There is a short crack at the fore end. The sling swivels are absent. The bore is dark with strong rifling. The action is excellent.

This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic.
