Description:
The Remington Model 700 Varmint Synthetic - Stainless Fluted model was introduced in 1994 and manufactured for 10 years until 2004.  This model was offered with or without a ported barrel in several of the calibers during it's production run, and those models carried a "SF-P" designation instead of "SF".  It was a successful design for Remington and quickly earned a reputation for being extremely accurate and well made.  The design was such a success that Remington carried this model on as the basis for several more varmint/target style rifle models they produced in subsequent years.  This rifle features a 26" inch fluted heavy stainless steel barrel with no iron sights, and a black HS Precision varmint style precision stock with gray webbing, along with the standard Model 700 features which included a hinged floorplate on the magazine.  The total weight of this Remington without optics and mounts is 8.5 pounds.  This particular example was made in September of 1994, and is one of the very first Model 700VS SF's manufactured.  It appears to have spent most of it's life in storage and has not been shot or carried much.  It is chambered for the extremely popular .22-250 cartridge which is superb for varmint hunting.  The .22-250 round is an extremely fast and flat shooting cartridge that excels in accurate long range shooting and the ammo is widely available anywhere that sells ammo in a number of weights and bullet styles.  This rifle is in excellent all-original condition overall.  The stainless steel finish still looks excellent, and only under very close observation can any minor handling marks or small spots of marring in the finish be found.  The bore is spectacular in this Remington.  The rifling still looks brand new with sharp lands and grooves in the rifling and there is zero pitting or erosion visible.  The original HS Precision stock is also in excellent original condition.  It is free from wear, cracks, chips, repairs, or damage of any kind.  The original Remington-branded recoil pad is in like-new condition, perfectly fit, and tight to the stock.  The length of pull is 13.5" inches to the end of the thin factory pad.  The action on this 700VS SF is smooth and tight.  The factory jeweled bolt turns into battery precisely and with no slop.  All of the controls on this rifle work 100% like the day it left Remington's factory.  This Model 700VS SF comes with a Simmons Whitetail Classic scope already mounted up on Leupold rings and bases.  The scope is a 4 to 12 power with an adjustable 50mm objective lens.  It features a standard duplex style reticle and all of the scope controls and adjustments work perfectly.  The optics are bright and clear with no scratches or chips, and this scope should hold zero perfectly.  If you have been looking for the perfect long range varmint rifle to add to your collection this Remington would be a great choice.  It would be nearly impossible to find a better example of this proven Remington 700 variant, and the only other thing you would need to take this rifle afield is ammunition.  Priced to sell!
