This is a very rare item, especially with a full magazine. All correct and untouched! Winchester Model 1873 "3RD Model" .38/40wcf. This Rifle was special ordered with a 20 inch barrel (short rifle). The serial number of this example is 4024XX. This rifle will letter with the Buffalo Bill Museum, Cody, Wyoming. Overall condition is near excellent. 30-40% of the original untouched factory finish. Most of the finish is present, 70% toned to a very nice even blue plum patina. The bore is near perfect. Bright and shiny from breech to muzzle. The bore is void of damage. The bore will rate a 9.5 on a 1 to 10 scale. Wood to metal fit is perfect. Wood is void of damage. Very rare investment quality Short Rifle!
