Description:
3-digit serial range. Features a step-down frame. It has Marlin style sights. Cal 45-70. Bore is somewhat dark and would benefit from a good cleaning. Scattered pits. Wood is good and sound with no cracks or splits. Usual handling mars. Considerable amount of orig varnish remaining. Metal retains about 20% orig blue with the balance turning a plum/brown. Overall not in bad condition for an early first model 1881 Marlin as only 400 were made!
