EXCELLENT COLT LIGHTNING LARGE FRAME .40-60 CAL. OCTAGON 28” MAGAZINE RIFLE CIRCA 1890. All original, matching and complete with approximately 80-90% original blue on the barrel, tube and frame. Original factory front and elevator rear sights. Much case hardening on hammer. Has all the original finish on the stock with normal signs of use. Checkered slide forend in excellent condition. Crisp markings including the Rampant Colt on the frame and the barrel address. Address with the 1883, 1885, 1886 and 1887 patent dates. Perfect working order and excellent bore. Extra nice untouched original example of the hard to find in the large frame model.
