Winchester Model 1892 Sporting Rifle .25/20 with factory 30 inch Barrel, Marbles combination front sight and Tang. The serial number of this example is 127923 placing date of manufacture in 1899. The Buffalo Bill Museum Letter that will accompany this rifle provides the following description at time of shipment. Serial Number Applied on December 06,1899 Type: Rifle Caliber: 25/20 Barrel Type: Octagon Barrel length: 30 Inches Trigger: Plain Received into the Warehouse on December 14th,1899 Shipped from the Warehouse on December 14th, 1899 Order Number: 48233 A Special Order rifle mostly a mix grey patina with a near perfect bore. The bore is bright and shiny from breech to muzzle with strong rifling. The bore will rate an 8.5 on a 1 to 10 scale. The top of bolt has a couple of hits/handling marks. The action is tight, smooth and mechanically perfect. Wood to metal fit is perfect with no cracks, slivers or breaks. Very rare to find a Model 1892 with 30 inch Barrel.
