Winchester 1873 Second Model, .38-40wcf., factory 22 inch Barrel, Special Order Shotgun Butt! The serial number of this example is 755XX Placing date of manufacture in 1880-81. Overall condition is very good plus with 20-30% of the original untouched factory finish, remaining finish toned to a very nice even patina. The bore is near perfect. The bore is bright and shiny from breech to muzzle. The bore will rate an 8 on a 10 to 10 scale. The action is tight, smooth and mechanically perfect. Wood to metal fit is perfect. This Short Rifle will letter with the Buffalo Bill Museum in Cody, Wyoming. Any full magazine 1873 Short Rifle is very rare!
