Description:
Yugoslavian (Preduceze 44) arsenal refurbished and re-issued German WWII 98K 9mm rifle. Serial "Sxxxx" appears on barrel, bolt, stock, bottom plate, but has other marks on bolt base, bayonet ring. Apparently these rifles were refurbished from German K98's, and redesignated Model 48's. Blueing is good as pics show. Bore is dark but lands are crisp. Don't know if sling is as-issued, but leather is good. Special note::this piece's stock setup is standard K98 style and doesn't feature the rear top stock piece, as most other M48's. It's a credit to Mauser design that these rifles were refurbished and re-issued to post-war Yugo troops, although I don't think this particular rifle saw combat after its arsenal work.
Due to age, I'm letting my military collection go, and want these historic pieces to go to good homes. I hope the pics will show the rifle's good condition. .
