Description:
This 300 Savage has a 24" barrel and an excellent bore. The barrel, frame, and serrated steel butt plate retain 85-90% original blue that is flaking to ao pleasing brown and mixing of light oxidation and pitting. the lever retains nearly all its original vibrant case color. the checkered walnut rounded forearm and pistol grip butt stock rate excellent and have a few very small dings. The butt stock shows evidence on the left side of a receiver right having one been mounted both stocks are numbered to the receiver. The original front sight is intact, the rear sight removed and a slot blank installed in its place. Though the serial number puts the manufacture of this rifle in early 1946, the style and features of this classic arm resemble more the pre-war production series "R" rifles. Potentially one of the first off the line when commercial production resumed after t he end of World War !!. A very nice 99 lever rifle, with possible collector and investment interest.
