Description:
Have six plates. Each plate is slightly different as to the Rock, Water, Cacti. and Eagle. Each plate is hand painted which explains the slight differences. The back of the plates have a blue R also in different size as to each plate. The size of the plate is eight and a half inches across. These plates were brought back by my Dad in 1916-17 when he was with Pershing's Army in Mexico. They have been verified at the Antique Road Show when my wife took them to be appraised several years ago. Also the Chicago Art Museum verified these plates for my Dad in the 1950's. One of the plates has a small chip on the right bottom edge. this can be seen on the first set of plate pairs. These are historically interesting plates as the Emperor only ruled from 1864 to 1867 when he was shot by a firing squad. I will sell the plates as a six plate set only, will not break up the set.
