Antique FRATERNAL Ceremonial SWORD Marked “KKK”

Full Dress Ceremonial Leader Sword

Here we present an antique Fraternal Ceremonial Sword Marked “KKK”, manufactured circa the late-19th Century. This sword follows the pattern of Civil War-era “militia” type swords that were prominent at the time. Being that they were not exactly made for fighting they were relegated to use by many fraternalanizations. There is every likelihood that this one was used by the Ku Klux Klan, the infamous white supremacist group with a fascination for ceremony and a proclivity to violence as a means to achieve their ends.
This sword is in good condition, only showing some minor oxidation on the blade. The length of the blade of this sword is 27-3/4 inches and it is marked with “KK/K” on the guard in a small circle with a navy-blue background. The handle is wrapped in leather with braided wire. The pommel bears an eagle on one side and the other side has a shield shape. This is very similar to other examples of KKK swords found.
