Description:
This item is a Winchester 1873 Third Model short rifle with a 20 inch octagon barrel with a full length magazine and in caliber 44 W.C.F. (44-40). The serial number is 578211B and the rifle was shipped in 1904 which makes it a Curio & Relic and not an Antique firearm. It has a museum letter. The receiver, barrel and magazine are a gray/brown patina. The screws are good. The short (8 3/8”) forearm has a few dents and scratches. The barrel markings are good. The stock is in good condition with not many defects for its age. The bore is good with some minor pitting. The rifle has a set trigger which is not mentioned in the letter although I believe, is original to the rifle since the trigger guard has the serial number and a set trigger rifle has the small indentation on the left of the guard for the trigger adjustment as shown in the pictures of this rifle. I prefer to ship USPS, will ship UPS if requested and WILL NOT ship Fed Ex. I will need an FFL or C&R license to ship this rifle.
