After looking at old repro gun catalogs,I would say this is a No.3. Since it has the right details such as trigger guard,combination sights, and not drilled for tang sight. BUT,its in a rare and desirable caliber,and probably special order. The butt stock is nice ,barrel has most blue, nickel is lightly freckled on receiver; but overall a nice presentable piece! The mechanical is excellent and has some slight play up and down.There are some marks by barrel address.The barrel address would indicate manufactured up to 1886.I have test fired with lead bullets,since jacketed bullets would wear out barrel.The bore has wear but is not terrible and is shootable. I sell this as an antique for collecting and display purposes. If intending to shoot , for safety, one should have checked by a gunsmith and suitable load.I will consisder trade for Maynard 1873,or. 1882 stuff; and will go up and down on trade value.
