Payment Types Accepted: Credit Card, Certified Check, Money Order Description: CIVIL WAR Emerson & Silver M1860 Cavalry SABER U.S. Inspected Made in Trenton, NJ in 1864 Here we present an Emerson & Silver U.S. Model 1860 Light Cavalry Sword, manufactured circa 1864 in Trenton, New Jersey. This sword was used by the US Cavalry from the American Civil War until the end of the Indian wars, some were still in use during the Spanish-American War. One side of the blade is marked “U.S./D.F.M./1864”. “DFM” are the initials of government inspector Dexter F. Mosman. The other side is marked “EMERSON/&/SILVER/TRENTON/N.J.”. The overall condition is very good. The grip is wrapped with leather and wire, which is still tight. The nickel-plated scabbard is in good condition, with a few thin spots.
