Nicely done set of cased Blundt & Syms Dueling Pistols, manufactured in New York, N.Y. in the 1850's or 1860's. The pistols are fitted with a .50 caliber smooth bore 9 inch in length Damascus octagon barrel with engraved and gold inlayed breeches, attractively engraved locks (unmarked), engraved hammers, engraved trigger guards, engraved screws, single set adjustable triggers, silver inset initial plaques (each engraved "Thiene quoi quadvienne"), and nicely checkered stocks. These pistols are in excellent original condition, they retain most all of their original finishes and may possibly be unfired. The butt of the grips are fitted with a lanyard, reinforced with a silver band, and stamped with the number 4655. Includes accessories, such as flask, ram/cleaning rod, percussion cap container with pistol caps, balls, screwdriver, and key to case. Includes presentation case, the case is sound and in fine condition with assorted handling marks/pressure dents.
