Description: The Ruger Standard Auto was an immediate best seller when it hit the market back in 1949. Since then, it has become the best-selling .22 semi-auto pistol of all time, with over two million units of all models sold by 1999. The Mark II made its debut in 1982 to replace the original Standard Auto, the Mark I Target, and the A100 version of both pistols. The A100, introduced in 1971, introduced the first changes made to the original design, many of which are found on the Mark II and later pistols. These include the magazine follower extension and its associated slot in the grip frame being moved from the right side to the left side as well as the addition of a bolt hold-open device. The Mark II had the distinction of introducing the 10-round capacity that became standard on later Marks. Overall, many Ruger fans prefer the Mk II version for its combination of the features introduced on the A100’s, the 10-round magazine, and lack of a magazine safety as found on later models. It was produced until 2004 when it was replaced with the Mark III. The Mark II Target here has the somewhat rare 10” bull barrel making it a very accurate pistol. This of course comes with the cost of being heavier than the standard 5.5” barreled model but the trade of is worth it. The Mark II Target is in retains its original box. There are some minor scratches on the barrel, but the bore is very clean. The pistol has been equipped with a B-Square scope mount and a matte-nickel Simmons 2x20mm scope making this a very effective target pistol. SOLD Manufacturer: Sturm, Ruger & Co., Inc.
