Description:
Classic Spencer Repeating rifle with a unique history. This is a New Model 3-band rifle with bayonet lug. Barrel stamped "N.M." at breech. Serial #1057xx is correct for the New Model sequence. 30" barrel with bore in excellent condition (shiny and clean). Case hardened receiver with some color still present. Original stock with honest wear, scratches and dings but no cracks. Magazine tube is damaged and missing spring/follower. REDUCED FOR QUICK SALE 6/6/19
The receiver is inscribed with Japanese lettering (see photos). A number of Spencer rifles were shipped to Japan during the Boshin War (Japan's Civil War) which occurred from 1868-1869. It appears that this rifle may have been involved in this struggle.
