Description:
This WWII production H&R Model 25 Defender 38 is like new in box condition. Has only the slightest bit of cylinder ring, but does not really show any other wear. Finish is superb. Serial number is 10042. Adjustable front and rear sights.
These revolvers are listed in Pate's book as being used by the U.S. Navy, the British, Civil Defense contractors, etc. during WWII.
Rarely does one encounter such a new example. Includes the original factory box and what I believe to be the original (or at least vintage) cleaning rod.
There is some slight shringage on the stocks.
This revolver was part of the collection of renowned author and collector, Charles W. Clawson. Mr. Clawson is best known for authoring several books on the U.S. military .45 auto pistols, Colt Government Model pistols and the U.S. Moison-Nagant rifles.
Caliber is .38 S&W (.38-200).
Please contact me with any questions or to purchase this revolver. Included with the revolver is a Certificate of Authenticity from Mr. Clawson's widow which documents the gun as being from his collection.
The box and gun is definitely all original. Box is NOT a reproduction. There is an old, musty smell that ensures this is the real article.
