The Colt Factory letter states that this Colt Double Action Revolver 1878 #50322 was shipped to Sears Roebuck & Co., Chicago, IL as a 45/c, 7-1/2” barrel, Blue, Stocks Not Listed, on Aug 25, 1903, with 5 similar guns in shipment.
The gate #159 matches number that would be under left grip on frame.
This frame can be used in re-assembly to the specs specified in the Colt letter. Includes original sideplate, sideplate screw, gate, and gate spring. Would look great paired up in a Sears Roebuck & Company Holster!
This frame also includes Colt letter info from their shipping records (cost $150).
All gun photos presented here are of Extremely-High-Definition quality, and represent enlargement up to 7X Actual Size! This means that a spot the diameter of a sharp pencil point (0.015”) can appear to be almost 1/8”.

No International sales. Not being sold as a shooter, but as a functional collector’s Colt M1878 frame. If you want to shoot any older Colt, first take it to a gunsmith and have it checked out.
Three day inspection period, but ask questions prior to buying (see additional notes on returns at bottom). Additional pictures sent on request.
I accept Bank Cashier’s Checks and Postal Money Orders. No personal checks or Western Union MO’s. Payment must be received with copy of FFL within seven days after sale date, and sent by Priority Mail with Tracking Number provided by buyer. Shipping by FedEx Home Delivery (8” x 6” x 4” box) with $200 insurance $22.00 (and tracking number provided to buyer). Usually shipping occurs within 3 days after payment received.
