Description:
This is a very good and early E. Whitney Model 2, Style 2, Navy .36 Cal Cap & Ball revolver with a hard to find blade front sight. The revolver has a 7.5 inch octagon barrel with 7 groove gain twist rifling that is very nice. The barrel, cylinder, cylinder/rammer all have matching serial numbers. The steel frame has very minor surface pitting and is a nice patina. The trigger guard is brass and has an even mustard color. The wood grip are quite good with a little shrink and some wood missing at the butt. This revolver has a very good cylinder (inside) and the nipples are all open and solid. You may want to bring it to a gunsmith but the revolver looks ready to go. The springs are very strong and it indexes like new. The revolver was made in 1862-1863 and may have gone to the North or South or be a civilian model.Sorry no Transfers on the Antique revolver. It can be sent to your home where the laws allows. (Almost everywhere in the U.S.A.)
