Description:
Serial #60851, .45 ACP/Auto Rim, 5 1/2" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This revolver has matching numbers on the frame, barrel, cylinder, yoke, and ejector, with the metal retaining 98-99% of the original blue finish. There is a mild turn-ring on the cylinder and very minor imperfections, but these are negligible. The hammer, trigger, and lanyard swivel likewise retain nearly all of their original color case-hardening. The smooth walnut grips are numbered to the gun, and have scattered small handling marks and minor surface blemishes in the original oil finish on both sides. The lock-up rock-solid, and the action functions flawlessly. The revolver is accompanied by a 2017 dated S&W factory letter that lists a shipping date of June 12th, 1918 to Springfield Armory. This is an exceptional, almost unused example of a Smith & Wesson Model 1917, and would be very difficult to upgrade from. FFL or C&R
