Here is a shotgun that is seldom found in nice condition. The J.Stevens barrel address indicates it was made no later than 1886.From 1870,s to 1896,this was one of the popular American made shotguns. As photos show every thing is nice,and bore is great for age with some shine.The action locksup nice and thight.When forend is removed,some of the original pattern on barrel is visible,The hammer shows a repair which might have been for easier cocking.This is listed in rifle section as this Stevens type often came with a fitted rifle barrel.
